Antique Victorian / Edwardian Die-Cut Embossed Floral Fan – Christmas Greeting – Folding Paper Wall Pocket

Offered for sale is a beautiful and unusual antique decorative paper piece, believed to date from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period, approximately 1890–1915.

This elaborate die-cut and embossed paper decoration features a gorgeous fan-shaped arrangement of flowers in soft lavender, pink, cream, and green, accented with gold-colored detailing.

The design includes multiple raised and overlapping paper layers, delicate latticework, ornate scrollwork, and an intricately decorated folding front.

The lower front section folds partially downward and has small tabs designed to interlock with the main body, apparently forming a shallow pocket. It may have been intended to hold greeting cards, letters, or other small paper items.

A handwritten Christmas greeting on the reverse appears to read:

"Gertie – A Merry Xmas – from Grace"

This personal inscription adds wonderful historical charm and suggests the piece was given as a Christmas gift many years ago.

Condition

Antique condition with age-related wear, toning, and discoloration.IMPORTANT: The left side of the folding front is pulling away from the main structure and has damage at the attachment area. There is visible wear and separation in the layered paper construction.The piece is delicate and should be handled carefully. It has not been repaired.Please examine all photographs closely, particularly the close-up showing the damaged left-side attachment.
