An exceptionally beautiful late Victorian photograph album, dating to approximately the 1890s, featuring a richly detailed pictorial celluloid cover depicting two deer standing in a woodland landscape.The colorful woodland scene is framed by elaborate decorative borders featuring raised, bark-like texturing, ornate metallic trim, and rows of copper-colored scalloped ornaments. The combination of the naturalistic deer illustration and richly textured decorative elements gives the album a particularly striking appearance.An elaborate working brass-tone spring-loaded clasp secures the album, featuring beautiful scrolling ornamentation and an unusual serpentine design.
