A group of 4 demitasse cups and 6 matching saucers in the "Milan" pattern by Grindley. Brown Victorian Aesthetic style transfers on cream white earthenware. The ornate pattern features intricate snowflake and floral motifs. The saucers have a W H Grindley & Co Tunstall mark, which indicates the cups and saucers were made prior to 1891 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, England.
The cups are 2" tall with an opening diameter of 3". The saucers are 4 3/4" in diameter.
Very good condition overall with a few minor flaws. Some of the pieces have small pieces of kiln debris under the glaze. The saucers have no chips or cracks and varying amounts of crazing with no underglaze discoloration. 2 cups have no crazing, chips, or cracks. 1 cup has crazing but no chips or cracks. 1 cup has crazing but no cracks. It does have a couple of tiny nicks on on the rim, they're not noticeable unless you're looking for them, and a small manufacturing flaw on the tip of the handle.
