This quilt is true a work of art and is beautiful. The edging is missing on the front and the silk edging as well as a few silk squares have shattered over the years. There is some staining and color bleed in some parts from adjacent squares-visible mostly on the back. Despite the wear from years past, this quilt is still in good overall condition considering the age of the quilt. The hand stitches are still holding the pieces tightly together, and the embroidered images are as precise as ever shows how a talented the seamstress & quilter was . What an amazing labor of love it must have been to design, hand piece and stitch together such a beautiful quilt that it would be a treasured piece of the family linens for over a hundred years.
