RARE 6-piece ADO wooden nesting vintage toy stacking blocks (stacking cubes) possibly designed by Ko Verzuu for ADO in 1930s.
This is a complete and very early set of six handmade cubes. The condition of this vintage toy is still good with normal signs of use consistent with age and (play) use.
The set comes in the color: dark blue, red, yellow, green, orange, and teal blue.
ADO stands for Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen, and was founded in 1925.
These graduated wooden cubes nest together inside the largest block and feature finger-jointed construction with their original colorful painted surfaces.
Each block retains wonderful age-related wear, distressed paint, and authentic primitive character from decades of use. The set displays beautifully stacked, nested, or individually and would make a striking addition to a primitive antique, early American, folk art, vintage toy, farmhouse, or painted wood collection.
