I am listing for sale, a RARE, mid 1800s, Furniture Grain Painting Combs Kit. This Set has the Original 13, Various Steel Combs, in the Original Metal Case. Used to Handpaint the Graining Design, on Furniture. A popular practice, in the early 1800s. For those who could not afford the Expensive Woods, such as Cherry, Maple, Mahogany, etc. It copied the wood Graining, on cheaper woods such as Pine. The Case has the Original Paper Label-HENRY H TAYLORS GRAINING COMBS SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. Also an Embossed Stamp, on the opposite side. Original Case Lid. The Combs are sturdy, with nice old patina. The Case measures approximately 5 1/4×3 3/4\"× 1/4\". The largest Comb measures approximately 4\"×3 1/2\". The smallest Comb measures approximately 3 1/2\"×1\". Good antique, used condition.
