Before your phone woke you up, this 12-pound-looking chunk of Art Deco metal handled the job. 😂⏰
Original Warren Telechron Model 711 “Telalarm” electric alarm clock, dating to approximately 1931–1936 and manufactured in Ashland, Massachusetts.
This is the real early-\'30s deal — not a later retro reproduction. The Model 711 features a fantastic streamlined Dura-Silver-Alloy metal case, black Bakelite base, silver/off-white dial with bold Art Deco numerals, ornate black hands and a built-in alarm. Telechron records identify the model as the Telalarm, introduced in 1931. Clock History
One of its coolest features is the illuminated dial. The rear LIGHT control operates the small lamp beneath the clock face, and the light is shown illuminated in the photos.
And that little round window under the 12 isn\'t decoration — it\'s an early power-failure indicator. If electrical service was interrupted, the indicator turned red to warn the owner that the clock might no longer display the correct time. That\'s basically a 1931 error message. 😂 Smithsonian Institution
