Overview
Bring a touch of timeless Victorian elegance to your vanity or vanity collection with this stunning antique porcelain powder dresser box. Manufactured by the renowned Tressemann & Vogt (T&V) factory in Limoges, France, this beautiful 5-inch round piece is a masterpiece of early 20th-century craftsmanship.
The Artwork
The lid features a gorgeous, masterfully hand-painted motif of lush pink and yellow cabbage roses nestled among soft green foliage. The blending and delicate pastel background shading are characteristic of the finest china painting of the era. The piece is proudly signed by the artist, L. Ledyard, on the right side of the lid, making it a unique work of individual art rather than mass-produced transferware.
Age & Authenticity
The underside features the authentic, green underglaze T&V square factory mark, which traces the creation of this porcelain blank precisely to the 1892–1907 era.
Dimensions
• Diameter: 5 inches (approx. 12.7 cm)
Condition Report
This antique box is in very good vintage condition, especially considering its 120+ year history.
• The hand-painted floral scene remains vibrant with no visible paint loss or surface scratches on the lid.
• The interior glaze is clean and smooth.
• Note on Wear: There is a small flake/chip on the unglazed inner rim of the base (see photos). Because this sits flat against the surface, it is completely hidden from view when the piece is displayed upright and does not affect the structural integrity or outer beauty of the box.
Perfect as a keepsake holder, jewelry holder, vanity decoration, or a thoughtful gift for a serious Limoges porcelain collector!
