Hancock & SonsThe firm was originally established bySampson Hancockin 1857 in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. After relocating to the Bridge Works in Stoke in 1870, the company built a strong reputation for producing decorative earthenware, fine dinner sets, and sanitary goods. When Sampson passed away in 1900, his three sons (Jabez, Harry, and Arthur) took over the operations.In1912, they launched their premium ornamental art pottery line under the trade name"Royal Corona Ware". This division became famous for intricate, romantic multi-colored transferware and bohemian designs. Facing major economic challenges in the mid-1930s, the original family business entered receivership and closed its factory gates forever in1937. Because the pottery line existed for a finite, historical window, surviving intact collections are highly collectible pieces of classic English history.💎 Rarity & Collector Appeal - The "Rosetta" Pattern:While individual "Rosetta" items like large wash bowls or single ginger jars comes up, finding small vanity accent pieces is highly uncommon.
- Survival of a Full Set:Toiletries and vanity items were subjected to daily water, soap, and cosmetics contact. Finding a7-piece complete set—where the delicate lids, the fragile candlesticks, and the large tray have stayed together without being broken or separated over 100 years—isextraordinarily rare.
- Cross-Market Demand:This set appeals simultaneously to three active buying markets: antique English porcelain enthusiasts, chintz textile/pattern collectors, and "Grandmillennial" interior designers looking for curated bedroom accent statements.
