Up for sale is an authentic antique Imperial Russian Arts & Crafts period double-handled metalware vessel, serving as a small ewer or spill vase. This piece dates from the late 19th century to early 20th century (circa 1890–1915).
Construction Details:
• Method: Hand-hammered copper body with a traditional, visible interlocking "dovetail" (brazed cramp) seam running vertically down the back.
• Materials: Mixed metal design featuring a hand-wrought copper body, dual brass strap handles, and a brass rim lip. Handles are attached securely with heavy hand-set rivets.
• Markings: The underside shows typical heavy surface wear and patina but does not retain a legible or stamped factory hallmark logo.
Dimensions:
• Height: 7.5 inches
• Base Diameter: 1.4 inches
• Top Opening Width: 0.7 inches
• Handle-to-Handle Width: 2.4 honest antique condition commensurate with age and utility. The metal shows a dark, undisturbed original patina with minor scattered spots of verdigris (green oxidization) near the handle joins and inside the rim. The vessel structure is structurally sound, with no major dents or splits along the seam. The rim and base edge show minor irregularities typical of hand-formed metalware.
