Beautiful Antique Royal Vienna Style Porcelain Cabinet Plate - 9.25”
This turn-of-the-century porcelain decorative cabinet plate is in the classic Royal Vienna style. The center depicts classical maidens alongside a winged Cupid figure, featuring the transfer signature of the renowned artist Angelica Kaufmann.
The ornate border features alternating rich green and magenta/wine-red diamond panels, lavishly decorated with gold gilt stenciling and raised dot accents. The reverse side bears a distinct green underglaze beehive (shield) backstamp.
Condition - Please Read Carefully:This antique plate is being sold in as-is condition due to some notable finish wear on the front rim. Specifically, there are two distinct areas of irregular glaze/surface wear within the green border sections where the translucent color coat was scuffed or worn away, exposing the under-layer (visible in the close-up photos). There is also light, expected shelf wear to the back rim and minor rubbing to the delicate gold gilt. There are no chips, cracks, or hairline repairs to the porcelain itself. It still displays beautifully from the front, but the price has been significantly adjusted downwards to account for the wear.
