Description:
Up for sale/sale is a stunning, beautifully matched pair of antique Japanese Ginbari cloisonné enamel miniature vases, dating from the late Meiji to the early Taisho period (circa 1900–1920s).
These exquisite cabinet pieces utilize the coveted Ginbari (silver foil) technique. A textured, stippled silver foil background underlays a gorgeous translucent lime green to creamy white gradient enamel. The front of each vase is meticulously decorated with hand-enameled dark purple and yellow chrysanthemum flowers (kiku) with deep green foliage.
Condition:
• Flawless Antique Condition: Both vases are absolutely free of any chips, cracks, hairlines, or surface crazing. Cloisonné from this era is highly fragile, making a damage-free pair exceptionally rare.
• Markings: Unsigned / no stamped hallmarks on the metal rims, which is typical for many fine artistic pieces of this era.
Measurements & Weight:
• Height: Approx. 5.25 to 5.5 inches tall (see photos with measuring tape).
• Combined Net Weight: 11.5 oz (approx. 0.72 lbs) for the pair.
Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the item description. This beautiful pair will make an excellent addition to any collection of fine Asian art or antique Japanese ceramics.
