Genuine vintage handmade, hand painted design and form of a lovely French poodle dog standing in front of a tree
Size Approx. 4 7/8\"high x oval opening of vase is 1 3/8\", Round footed base is 3 7/8\" across
Embossed MADE IN FRANCE with the number 286 and the stamp of PV which stands for Vieux Paris/ Paris Vieux [Old Paris]. Also the word \'Made In- \' with a city that is not readable that begins with a P
Gorgeous detail in the Staffordshire style. Decorated on all sides of the vase with minute and delightful detailing. Wonderful small colorful flowers in the grass surrounding the poodle\'s paws and textured bark.
The poodle has a traditional poodle grooming shape to his fur, which shows light and shadow very well
Heavy, substantially made
Very good condition, would list as Excellent but for some visible wear to the paint on the BACK of the piece on the tree trunk. See last photo and use zoom. Paint is very stable and is not flaking or peeling, this is simply old wear. No other flaws whatsoever- no nicks chips cracks crazing or repair, lovely rich hand painted colored glaze, glossy finish. All size measurements & details in description. This is a RARE vase- extremely hard to find, if not impossible. A superb collectible. Stunning. Genuine Victorian era French.
Would look lovely on display and is perfectly usable as a vase.
