Here is a lovely single shaker in an oval shape reminiscent of an old-time powder bottle. It is made of porcelain with hand painted pink roses against spring green leaves on a pale mint green background. It\'s all one piece with the flat top with 13 dispensing holes painted metallic gold. Is this meant for vanity powder, salt, sugar or other spice? The fill hole with cork stopper on the underside is very small. Would look great on a vanity tray with tiny dried flowers or as a hat pin holder.
According to the backstamp style, it was crafted between 1899 and 1918 by Oscar and Edgar Gutherz in Austria.
This pretty piece is in excellent condition with no scratches, crazing or wear to the gold top. The shaker stands 3\" tall, 2\" long, 1.25\" wide, and weighs 1.3 ounces.
The backstamp in green has the word \"Royal\" inside a wreath with \"Austria\" below, and the initials \"O&EG\" above. Also indented are the numbers \"3882\".
Thanks for looking.
