Selling this Antique Optometrist Medical Tool from EB MEYR WILZ BROS. This Ebony handled instrument appears to be a medical tool used to measure the pupil distance between your eyes. The tool is placed onto the bridge of the nose and the two steel pointers are adjusted to match the center position of your eyes. This is a great handcrafted tool for your collection. I have never seen one like it before, a rare find.

Emil and Oscar Meyrowitz were opticians who also became dealers in surgical instruments in New York City, NY in 1880, continuing into the early 1900\'s. This instrument is stamped: \"MEYROWITZ BROS. New York Pat.Nov.26.1880\". This very early instrument is approx. 6-1/4\"L. The metal surfaces show age & use wear in the form of some tarnish. It has a smooth ebony handle.
