Authentic Antique \"Old Sleepy Eye\" Cobalt Blue & White Stoneware Pitcher
Up for sale is a beautiful, genuine antique Old Sleepy Eye stoneware pitcher. This iconic piece of American pottery features the highly detailed, embossed profile of the Sioux leader, Old Sleepy Eye, rendered in a striking, rich cobalt blue glaze against a cream-colored background.
The molded handle features the signature bust detail, and the base displays the classic rolling landscape design. Measures 9” tall 6.75” at base.
Condition Details (Please Read):
This piece has been loved and displayed as part of a collection. It is being sold AS IS due to two small, visible chips on the bottom edge of the base rim (carefully documented in the final two close-up gallery photos). The rest of the body, spout, and handle are in solid condition with no major structural cracks. It shows gorgeous, authentic age-appropriate crazing throughout the glaze.
This is a fantastic opportunity to add a highly sought-after piece of Americana folk art to your collection at a discounted price due to the flaws!
