Antique Old Derby Ridgways 'FANTASIA' Cobalt Blue/Orange Floral IMARI Victorian
This pattern is super rare & hard to find, and dates from the mid-Victorian era. It is lavish, lush, and quite stunning.
Size 9 1/8" across x 7/8" high. Border edge is 1 5/8" wide
Fabulous Imari-style detailed artwork with hand painted colors in shades of orange, cobalt blue, and green. Has a hand sponged gold rimmed border and beautiful hand applied gold gilded outlining through flowers
Excellent condition- light surface crazing throughout glaze normal for age, not darkened or browned- minor. No nicks chips cracks scratches fading or repair. As lovely an example of this plate as to be found.
Highly collectible- great as a cabinet display piece, a centerpiece, or many people use plate hangers to hang these on a wall. Gorgeous image.
Nice and heavy, fully marked with all maker info on back. There is an impressed number on the back which is filled w glaze & difficult to decipher. There's also a hand painted number of 3048A
