Frankly, I think it is more robust - part steel? Don\'t know anything for sure

\'North Bros. No. 30 Phila, PA\' is stamped into the shank along with several dates:
First Patent date: \'Apr. 16,95 - Nov. 2,97\'
Second patent date: \'Sep. 6,99 - Oct. 9,00\'
Third patent date: \'May 1,06 - Nov. 3,08\'
NB was acquired by Stanley in 1946.
So, this screwdriver is, at a minimum, 76 years old - definitely antique.
The fact that it is stamped \'No. 30\' and not \'No. 30A\' suggests it might even predate 1923, when the \'A\' line was introduced. Again, I\'m not certain.This screwdriver would make a fine addition to any vintage tool collection.

Condition

Good, not even considering how old it is.
Works well, as designed.
Metal shank has some (very) minor scratches; no noticeable pitting.
Double-spiral pattern on expandable shank is clean and well-defined.
Handle has two cracks (splits) about 2.5 inches long
Handle has expected wear and tear - scratches and gouges
The screw/plug inserted into the end of the handle is damaged/split.
