Antique Navajo Style Silver Turquoise Rigid Hat Band Ranger Buckle Rope 2.4oz75g:
$550.00

This sterling hat band is a rigid silver Southwestern/Navajo-style hatband with an adjustable miniature ranger-style buckle and keeper, applied twisted-rope borders, and small turquoise cabochons in serrated bezels.

There is a Nativo Arts example which is extremely close in overall construction: rigid silver band, rope-wire borders, miniature buckle system, turquoise stones, and the same general proportions.

Native Arts identifies that comparison as an early-1900s Navajo hand-wrought sterling silver turquoise hatband.

“Acid tested as 925 sterling silver. Surface shows areas of finish loss/discoloration and age-related wear; exact construction of all parts not confirmed.

Vintage rigid Southwestern silver and turquoise cowboy hat band featuring a hand-fabricated adjustable ranger-style buckle and keeper arrangement.

*Insurance required as well as signature on receipt of parcel.

Hatband is constructed from a narrow curved silver band bordered along both edges with applied twisted rope wire. The miniature buckle is decorated with three small turquoise cabochons, with two additional turquoise stones mounted on the keeper. Stones are set in traditional serrated sawtooth, pie crust bezels.

Metal has been acid tested as approximately 925 sterling silver.

No visible maker’s signature or hallmark has been located. Because the piece is unsigned, individual silversmith attribution cannot be confirmed.

Construction closely resembles documented early Navajo hand-wrought rigid silver turquoise hatbands using a solid metal band, rope-wire edging, little “adjustable” overlapping section and miniature ranger-style buckle hardware.

Vintage surface patina and age-related wear throughout. Portions of the silver surface show discoloration and apparent finish loss, particularly around the adjustment and buckle area. There is also oxidation, scratching and wear consistent with an older used piece.

Please examine all photographs carefully for exact condition.

Approximately 8 inches across as currently adjusted. Narrow band is approximately 3/8 inch wide.

Please refer to ruler photographs for additional measurements.

A scarce form of vintage Western / Southwestern jewelry and cowboy hat accessory.

This is a vintage Southwestern silver hatband with a hand-fabricated buckle/keeper arrangement, twisted-rope wire borders and small turquoise cabochons in serrated sawtooth bezels.

The construction is much more consistent with older Southwestern silverwork than with a modern mass-produced hatband. C1930-1950s.

Vintage Southwestern silver and turquoise cowboy hatband featuring a narrow polished silver-plate band bordered on both edges with twisted rope wire.

Decorative buckle-style fittings are set with small bright blue turquoise cabochons in serrated sawtooth bezels. The main buckle has three turquoise stones and the matching keeper has two turquoise stones. There is loss of silver plate due to wear.

This hatband is rigid and sturdy.

There is no adjustability, but there is slight movement. It shows slight movement but does not purposely adjust.

Hatband has an appearance of adjustable overlapping construction and displays an aged patina, surface wear, oxidation/tarnish and wear around the adjustment/buckle mechanism consistent with age and wear.

Nativo Arts vintage Navajo silver hatband with two ranger-style buckle assemblies, turquoise stones and silver rope borders.

This is a museum quality vintage Navajo turquoise and silver hat band concho belt.

The construction of this hat band has several important features.

* A continuous formed rigid metal hoop

* Applied twisted rope-wire borders

* An overlapping/sliding adjustable section, however minuscule.

* A true miniature buckle and keeper

* Five small turquoise stones at the buckle assembly

* Serrated bezels

* Approximately 8-inch diameter as presently adjusted

* No visible maker’s mark in the photographs you supplied

—-There is a documented early Nativo example, genuinely close enough to this specific listing & the correct family of hatbands.

Please examine all photographs closely for condition.

Approximately 8 inches across as photographed, with the narrow band measuring roughly 3/8 inch wide. Please refer to ruler photographs for the most accurate measurements.

No maker’s signature or sterling hallmark is visible. But loss of silver plating is obvious.

Vintage Southwestern / Western cowboy hat accessory with attractive old silver patina and turquoise buckle detailing.

There is noticeable age/use wear at the buckle adjustment area. Close-ups show oxidation, darkened metal, scratches and what appears to be deterioration or old residue around the internal sliding/fastening mechanism.

The important part: Nativo Arts does not identify an individual silversmith/maker in the listing. They attribute it broadly as Navajo, early 1900-1950s.

If it weighs near the Nativo example’s 58 grams or more, I would be comfortable testing the market at $399–$449 rather than starting lower.
