Antique/Vintage McKee Queen Pattern / Sunk Daisy & Button Pedestal Compote – Strong UV Reactive Glass

Beautiful clear pressed-glass pedestal compote featuring the Queen pattern, originally produced by McKee & Brothers and also known as Sunk Daisy & Button or Daisy and Button with Pointed Panels.

The Queen pattern is a documented Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) design dating to the late 19th century. This piece features beautifully detailed daisy/fern-style motifs, geometric button designs, pointed panels, an ornate pedestal stem and a multi-sided foot.

Approximate Measurements:

Height: 5 1/4–5 1/2 inches

Width/Diameter: 5 inches

UV REACTIVE:

This glass produces a strong, bright yellow-green fluorescence under a confirmed 395nm UV black light. The reaction is especially intense through the thicker pedestal/stem and is also visible through the bowl. Please see the included UV photographs.

The fluorescence is consistent with uranium-bearing glass; however, this piece has not been tested with a Geiger counter or laboratory equipment, so uranium content is not being represented as independently confirmed.

Identification & Age:

The pattern is identified as the McKee & Brothers Queen / Sunk Daisy & Button pattern. Queen was originally produced by McKee & Brothers during the late 19th century. Later reproductions of some Queen-pattern forms are known, including examples by Mosser Glass. Because this individual piece is unmarked, the exact manufacturer and production date are not guaranteed.

The piece displays pressed-glass mold characteristics and age-related surface wear, particularly to the contact areas of the base.

Condition:

Pre-owned vintage/antique glass with surface wear consistent with age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully for condition, as the photos are considered part of the description.

A beautiful and unusual piece for collectors of EAPG, McKee Queen pattern, Daisy & Button glass, Victorian pressed glass, UV-reactive glass and fluorescent glass.
