Created in connection with the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition, this substantial Victorian-era volume contains numerous halftone illustrations of the exposition grounds and buildings, historic Chicago scenes, cultural subjects, historical text, and atlas material. The decorative black cover features gold and silver-tone lettering and antique condition. The front cover is completely detached from the spine. Binding material is exposed, with substantial wear and deterioration along the spine and cover edges. The back cover has heavy scuffing, rubbing, and surface loss. The interior pages remain in generally good condition for their age, with expected toning and occasional spots. Numerous illustrated plates are present. Completeness has not been independently verified. Please review all photographs carefully; the book is fragile and offered as shown.
