Some glare in my pictures. I believe this to be a one-of-a-kind box from the early 1900's. There is some interesting information online about the GOTTLIEB,MIZUTANY& Company as well as Tomotsune Mizutany who I believe was an importer of Japanese tea. Below is a small amount of information, lots more online if you care to read up. The box measures about 9 inches wide, 6.5 deep and 6.5 tall. Rare item. Free shipping. Thanks.
This company was organized by Messrs. Gottlieb and Tomotsune Mizutany, in May, 1901, for the sole intention of importing tea from the Eastern countries, with its headquarters in Chicago (87 Front Street.) and branch offices in New York, Cleveland, St. Paul, Seattle, and Shizuoka, Japan. The New York branch is managed by Mr. Iwao Nishi with a staff of twenty-five able assistants.
