This is a beautiful vintage, possibly antique Japanese porcelain wine ewer (or teapot) meticulously hand-painted in the iconicKo-Kutani style. This octagonal, double-gourd shaped vessel features vibrant overglaze enamels including deep greens, mustard yellows, rich blues, and iron-red borders.
  • Front Panel:Depicts two finely painted figures (scholars or immortals) dressed in traditional robes beneath a stylized green pine tree. A flying bird and blooming flowers accentuate the landscape scenery.
  • Reverse Panel:Features a classic coastal landscape scene complete with a traditional pagoda pavilion temple by the water and a figure rowing a small boat.
  • Spout & Handle:Formed with elegant, sculptural contours painted in deep cobalt blue and jade green glaze work.
  • The Lid:Comes complete with its matching geometric octagonal lid, topped with a charmingly sculpted turquoise-greenShishi (Foo Lion)finial acting as a decorative handle.
  • The Base:Features the traditional Japanese square green sealFuku (福) mark, translating to "Good Fortune" or "Happiness," characteristic of high-quality Ko-Kutani revival wares.
