Antique Inuit Handmade Cloth Doll Fur Parka Sealskin Arctic Alaska Native Eskimo:
$169.95

Wonderful antique Inuit / Alaska Native handmade doll, dressed in a traditional winter parka. The body is cloth-stuffed with a painted/inked face, wool yarn headband and hair, and a hooded coat made from real skin with fur at the edges. Below the parka is a colorful printed cotton skirt and textured skin leggings with soft skin boots—classic early 20th c. tourist / village work.

Approx. measurements (see tape in photos):

Height: about 11–12 inches

Details & materials (best guess):

Hand-sewn skin parka with fringe hem, likely sealskin or caribou

Fur trimming around hood opening

Painted facial features on cloth head

Printed cotton fabric skirt (suggesting c. 1920s–40s era)

Skin or leather leggings and soft skin boots

Condition (please read):

This is an authentic old piece and shows age and wear throughout. There is surface soiling, staining, scattered small holes and losses to the skin, areas of flaking/dryness, edge wear to fringe, wear and spotting on the skirt, and general handling/age toning. Some seams may be fragile, and there is lint and debris in the fur. Sold as a delicate antique doll for adult collectors/display only, not for play. Please zoom all photos for the best sense of condition.

This doll displays beautifully in an Inuit / Alaska Native art, Arctic, ethnographic, or folk art collection, and would look great in a rustic cabin, lodge, or curated boho/cottagecore shelf.

Choosing true vintage and Indigenous handmade work over mass-produced décor means you’re preserving real cultural history, unique materials, and craftsmanship—while buying more sustainably.

With its softened surfaces and timeworn parka, this doll carries a quiet presence, as if the years of handling and storytelling have settled gently into the stitches and fur.
