Up for sale is a remarkably rare, 100% authentic Imperial Russian (Pre-1917) lithographed caviar tin box. This unique piece of history features bold Cyrillic text on the lid reading "САМАЯ ЛУЧШАЯ ИКРА" (translated to "The Very Best Caviar").
The side rim is cleanly marked with the original manufacturer's stamp: "Т-во ЖЕСТЬ. РЕВЕЛЬ" (Association of Tinplate, Revel — modern-day Tallinn, Estonia). The opposite side specifies the imperial patent stamp: "Патентовано за № 22688".
**Condition:**
The tin is in honest, untouched antique condition with a beautiful natural patina. The exterior shows areas of surface rust, paint fading, and oxidation appropriate for a food container that is over 110 years old, while retaining fully legible lithographed graphics. Notably, the interior is exceptionally clean and stable for a tin of this age, free from deep pitting or heavy rust flakes. The structure is entirely solid and the lid fits snugly and securely onto the base. Please review all high-resolution images for close-ups of the interior and exterior details.
**Approximate Measurements:**
- Diameter: ~3.5 inches
- Height: ~1.5 inches
A stellar addition to any collection of Imperial Russian antiques, Baltic history, or early advertising packaging! Worldwide shipping is available. Packaged with professional care.
