Up for sale is a stunning, authentic antique fine porcelain bouillon cup and matching saucer set, meticulously crafted by the legendary Haviland & Co. in Limoges, France. This delicate two-piece set features a beautiful Art Nouveau design showcasing soft-focus purple and pink wild meadow flowers intertwined with slender green grasses against a crisp white porcelain ground. The elegant scalloped edges and uniquely shaped double handles are heavily accented with bright gold gilding.
This set displays the rare, highly desirable dual-backmark system on the underside, establishing a secure production date range between 1894 and 1931:
1. Underglaze Factory Mark: Green stamp reading \"Haviland / FRANCE\" indicating the year the white porcelain blank was fired.
2. Overglaze Decorator Mark: Red-orange stamp reading \"Haviland & Co. / Limoges\" confirming the pattern and gold details were applied in Haviland\'s own elite decorating rooms.
Traditionally designed as a footed bouillon or consommé set for serving elegant clear broths during multi-course Victorian or Edwardian dinner services, this exquisite pairing functions beautifully today as a unique teacup set or an upscale display statement piece for porcelain collectors. VB
