This matching set features an unusual angular geometric design with pale green, dark green/black and reddish-orange accents highlighted by extensive gold gilt decoration. The tall lidded chocolate pot has a dramatic angular handle, pointed spout and geometric lid finial, while the matching cups and saucers feature coordinating octagonal forms.
The underside is marked “Hand Painted Nippon” with Japanese characters. Genuine Nippon-marked Japanese export porcelain is generally associated with the period before 1921.
