Description
We are not sure if its original function. We believe it is likely to be either a candle / light cover to place standing up in front of a candle (on a stand) or an inkwell cover.
Antique Candle Light Cover? Moon hinge allows additional light to shine through?
Or Inkwell cover with hinged moon to allow access to ink well?
Condition
It is in excellent antique. The words San Francisco, enamel or paint is worn.
It is a rare a Victorian piece in such fine condition.
