This listing is for an antique brown stoneware mug, probably German. It is heavy, smooth ceramic with an exquisite pewter hinged lid.
There is a dark maker\'s mark on the bottom, stamped or painted. It has faded somewhat, but based on the appearance it is a Gerz maker\'s mark (see comparison on last photo).
Measurements: 5.5\" tall, 3\" diameter at top, 4.5\" wide with handle. Weighs 1.5 pounds.
Condition: There is one small chip on the rim as shown in the third photo. It is small and not sharp, but I notice it while taking these photos. It\'s partly hidden when the lid is closed, and you won\'t see it if holding the mug with your right hand. Otherwise no issues -- a great antique mug.
