Condition:
Antique pre-owned condition. IMPORTANT: There is a visible hairline crack running across the body of the dish. Heavy age-related wear and loss to the gold decoration, including darkening/oxidation, spotting and surface wear around the ornate rim. No chips observed during inspection. Scenic High School image remains attractive and readable. Please examine all photos carefully; condition and hairline are shown in close-up.

Antique German porcelain souvenir dish featuring a detailed color image titled:
“HIGH SCHOOL, GARDNER, MASS.”
Beautiful ornate molded form with an unusually heavy gold-decorated scrolling border surrounding the white porcelain center.
The underside carries an especially interesting retailer/importer backstamp:
“MADE IN GERMANY FOR W. H. SILVERTHORNE, W. GARDNER, MASS.”
This was therefore produced in Germany specifically for the Gardner, Massachusetts souvenir market rather than being an unmarked generic decorative dish.
A desirable piece of early Gardner local history despite the condition issues. Excellent display collectible for Gardner, Massachusetts memorabilia, antique school souvenirs, German porcelain and early American travel souvenir collectors.
