Up for sale is a beautiful and highly decorative antique hunter's tobacco smoking pipe (Jägerpfeife), dating approximately to the late 19th or early 20th century, circa 1880–1920.
This wonderful traditional hunting pipe features a long wooden stem with a gracefully curved upper metal fitting and a black mouthpiece connector. The bowl is beautifully decorated with a deeply carved hunting scene depicting a stag deer surrounded by oak leaves.
The tobacco bowl is fitted with a hinged metal wind cap. Additional metal fittings connect the bowl to the stem, while a traditional green decorative cord with small colorful tassels completes its attractive appearance. Marked “bruyère garantie”.
Measures: 8 1/2” height; 1 3/4” x 3” bowl
