Antique Imperial German Bavarian Reservist Beer Stein – 1896–1899
Offered is an original Imperial German (Kaiserzeit) porcelain reservist beer stein commemorating the military service of Reiter Nussberger with the 1st Bavarian Heavy Cavalry Regiment \"Prinz Carl von Bayern,\" 3rd Squadron, for the years 1896–1899.
This handsome 11-inch stein is richly decorated with colorful cavalry scenes, patriotic military imagery, and regimental inscriptions typical of late 19th-century German reservist steins. The reverse includes a roster of fellow members of the squadron, while the interior base contains a lithophane, a desirable feature among collectors.
The original pewter lid retains its detailed mounted cavalry soldier finial and ornate lion-form thumb lift. Both appear original, and the lid opens and closes properly.
