6 1/2". The body has a band of incised lines near top and a similar band above the collet foot Scrolled handle, The double-domed cover has an OPEN THUMBPIECE.
Left of handle is a HALL MARK.
It is the Touch of FATHER AND SON, TOWNSEND & COMPTON. The latter was the father. Partner from c,1801 when Compton's father-in-law(John Townsend) died, Worked together making grand pewterware, until 1817 in which year THOMAS. COMPTON DIED Cot marks are recorded in H.H. Cotterell’s:"Old Pewter-Its
