This beautiful plate features a lovely portrait of a lady of court and was made with the highest quality porcelain. The portrait bears the signature of the artist J. Bazzek. Please see the photos of the signature and portrait. The plate is embossed and features a raised gold decoration.
The back of the plate is marked with the blue Sevres mark painted over the glaze. I am not sure of the actual maker or decorator of this plate because the Sevres mark was often forged in the past. This plate was found with a set of nearly identical plates each featuring a different portrait. The other plates all had "Ovington Brothers" painted on the base.
The plate is approximately 9" in diameter and 7/8" high.
Very good antique condition: No chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some wear to the raised gold decoration, particularly on the flat surface of the plate where it was stacked, and there's a little wear to the gilding on the edge of the plate.
