Antique French Napoleon III-style pewter ewer.
This listing is for ONE single ewer — the first of a matched pair being offered as two individual listings.
Pewter body on a cast-iron base, with mask mounts, grape/fruit swags, and a scrolled handle. Approximately 15 inches tall x 6 inches wide, about 6.2 lbs.
CONDITION — Please read carefully: The pewter body has aged patina/oxidation consistent with age. There is a hairline crack in the pewter near the base. It is consistent with the piece's age, the ewer stands solidly, and it is stable( see picture of the stem). The cast-iron base has HEAVY rust/corrosion with flaking black paint (clearly visible in the base photos). The base underside is a perforated iron plate with rust. Sold as-is, for decorative use.
No maker's mark observed. We do not attribute this piece to any maker.
A MATCHED MATE ewer is also available (see the last photo showing both together) — message me about combined shipping if you want both.
