Antique French H.B. & Cie Choisy Child’s Plates Pair – Dutch Children Scene – c.1890

A matched pair of antique French faience children’s plates by H.B. & Cie (Hautin Boulenger & Cie) of Choisy-le-Roi, France, dating to the late 19th century (circa 1880–1900).

Each plate features a charming hand-painted Dutch children scene with traditional costume and period illustration, accompanied by French caption text. The plates display a scalloped rim with a repeating blue geometric border, typical of Choisy decorative wares of this era.

Both plates retain excellent surface condition with no utensil wear, suggesting careful preservation. Light glaze crazing is present, consistent with age and original firing methods. Colors remain bright and well defined.

Marked on the reverse “H.B. & Cie – Choisy – France”, confirming authentic production at the Choisy-le-Roi manufactory prior to World War I.
