I had the pleasure of attending a private estate sale in Moraga Estates, which is a gated community in the hills of Bel Air, CA. This is from the estate of a prosperous philanthropic family. The designer of the 8,000 sq ft home was noted architect and designer Cleo Baldon (the house was furnished by Cleo\'s classic and iconic furniture) whose brother and sister in law were the home owners.
Quite the cute and whimsical19th century French Auguste Moreau style bronze cherub/child sitting in front of a mirror admiring him/herself. It is marked on back Genuine Bronze but I fail to find an artist\'s mark. Verygood quality piece. She had this in another of her bathrooms, on a counter.
It is about 5 3/4\" tall x 4\" wide x 3 3/4\" deep.
Excellent pre owned /used condition considering age with patination losses/wear, some oxidation in small areas, replaced screw on back of mirror plate and silver loss to mirror. All honest antique wear and tear. The weight before packing is 4 lbs, so it is quite heavy for its size.
They had an amazing collection of napkin ring holders, Asian art, jewelry and modern art. Pieces I will be listing in the coming days and weeks.
