Antique Foster Bros Lamb Splitter 152 For Sale

Splitter does have the Foster Bros name, Trademark written and Arrow placing it in the 1878-1890 era. OAL is approximately 17 inches with an 11 inch blade. Leather scales, stacks and wrap were a custom modification made by butchers and users of these knives in that time period when the wooden scales became cracked and broken. This one has flat leather slabs that were put on to replace the wooden scales that were split beyond repair. Etching on the blade is very difficult to get a photo of so I am including several attempts here to show the logo and Arrow. Please see all pictures as they are the best description of this splitter.
