RARE Historical Time Capsule!! Amazing collection of ephemera from the 1930's and 40's.
Provenance: I purchased this with other items from a landlord who was selling some forgotten contents from his elderly tenant who had passed years ago. From what I gather, she was a socialite in Toronto, Canada who frequently travelled to New York for parties and plays. I will be listing another lot of menus and programs from the same collection.
This lot contains newspaper article clippings from The Toronto Star (circa 1938+), postcards (some blank and some with longhand messages and addresses, telegram (engagement), program from the Metropolitan Opera, photographs (some identified and some not), dance cards, Savoy playbill/ad?, bulletins, newsletters, art/doodles, and more.
This is a unique collection with lots of interesting items with possibilities for further historical and geneological research - or just to enjoy as a snapshot into a life in the past.
