Description:
Beautiful old Eight Point Star quilt, measuring approximately 80” x 66”, with striking pink, blue and soft cream cotton fabrics. The colors remain surprisingly vibrant for its age, and the dense hand quilting gives it wonderful texture and character.
This appears to be an older quilt with wool batting. The batting is uneven in areas and has shifted or bunched with age. There are areas of loose and weakened fabric, fraying, fabric loss, scattered stains and general age-related wear. Some sections expose the batting, as shown in the photos.
Despite its age and wear, the quilt has a very special presence and beautiful early handwork. It would be wonderful for display, textile collecting, careful restoration, or someone who appreciates quilts in their naturally aged condition.
