Antique Celtic Revival Silver Cross Necklace — Circa 1900–1920
A truly exceptional antique Celtic Revival necklace displaying remarkably fine, intricate workmanship throughout. This is much more than a cross placed on an ordinary chain—the entire necklace is an elaborate artisan composition, with seemingly endless decorative details to discover.
The large Celtic High Cross features a traditional circular nimbus with pierced openings and densely modeled ornamentation. Raised bosses, scrolling foliage, berries, and organic floral forms give the surface tremendous depth. Its naturally darkened patina remains within the recesses, beautifully emphasizing every tiny detail.
The necklace itself is equally impressive, incorporating:
- Sculptural twisted links
- Delicate openwork Celtic-knot stations
- Flower-shaped rosette connectors
