Antique, circa 1880's, W. Duke, Sons & Co., Duke's Cameo Cigarettes wooden folding chair, promoting Duke's Cameo Cigarettes and featuring two paper chromolithographs of Victorian era female studio models. Chair is in original condition with no sign of reconditioning.
Paper litho's are 90% complete with some paper loss to the litho on backrest of the chair. Wear is present on the images including fading, staining, crazing and surface wear, however I consider them to be in good condition considering the age and intended use of the chair.
Wooden chair is in good overall condition considering it's age and use. The chair hinges as intended and has a little bit of play in some of the movement joints, but it is structurally sound with all hardware intact. Wear to the wood includes some scuffs/scratches, staining & discoloration, minor paint transfer or spotting. The original wooden seat is intact but is showing some separation of the multi-ply veneer with two small locations where the top layer chipped away.
