This antique cup plate replica (large version) of the famous "Tippecanoe / Ft Meigs" campaign plate for William Henry Harrison in 1840 is a must have!! The plate is made of a GORGEOUS deep teal color glass and features the various political themes related to Harrison's presidential campaign that he ran on as a member of the Whig Party in 1840 and is a great collectible item for anyone interested in historical memorabilia, particularly political items related to presidential candidates. As a general in the army, Harrison first gained national fame for leading the victory battle at Tippecanoe in 1811. (War of 1812). He began building Ft Meigs - Perrysburg Ohio in 1813. His ‘Log Cabin and Hard Cider’ strategy portrayed him as a common and relatable man from the backwoods. He was the first American President to die in office, only 30 days after taking oath in 1841. His rich and decorated military background, as well as core values were reflected on his campaign memorabilia.
