I was very surprised to find the documentation shown in some of the photos. Mr. Schaefer purchased this in Massachusetts while living in New York in 2001. Sometime after that Mr. Schaefer relocated to Illinois, and I purchased at his estate sale. The estate sale contained 7-8 tea pots of similar design, but I was only able to obtain two. Upon arriving home with my purchases, I found the documentation inside the tea pot.
Please note that the spout is separated from the main body of the tea pot at the bottom of the spout. I briefly thought about taking this to a local craftsman for repair but have decided against that. What are your thoughts? Should it be repaired or left as-is? I\'m not sure when Mr. Schaefer noticed this issue, but he ultimately decided to enjoy it as it is. I like the originality of the piece and have chosen to do the same.
It\'s a beautiful piece that weighs approximately 4 1/2 pounds.
