Antique wooden clock door/front panel featuring a beautiful reverse-painted glass landscape panel depicting a house and trees, surrounded by a decorative gold-tone floral border. The wood frame also features a small diamond-shaped light-colored inlay at the top.
The lower glass panel has a circular opening associated with the original clock mechanism. The upper glass is missing, making this an excellent piece for antique clock restoration, replacement parts, or display.
The reverse of the painted glass shows later paint/paint reinforcement or restoration. Please see the photos of both the front and back for the exact condition and construction.
Condition:
Antique pre-owned condition. Upper glass is missing. Wood frame has age-related scratches, finish wear, small nicks and surface crazing. Reverse-painted lower glass displays very well from the front. Back of glass shows substantial painted areas that appear to be later restoration/repainting. Hardware is incomplete/partially present. No clock mechanism or clock case is included.
