Antique Chinese Export Dragon-Decorated Glass Spirit Flask
Marked WF — Attributed to Wing Fat — Circa 1900
An appealing antique Chinese export pocket flask featuring a flattened glass body, remnants of its leather covering, and a silver-colored lower mount decorated with a finely detailed dragon. The dragon’s elongated, scaled body wraps around the flask, with raised claws, flowing whiskers, and a dramatically modeled head.
The domed metal cap features an engraved interlaced monogram, a hinged opening, and a cork-lined interior. The underside bears a rectangular “WF” stamp alongside an additional mark appearing to be a Chinese character.
The WF mark is consistent with Wing Fat, a Chinese retail silversmith associated with Hong Kong and Canton during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The flask is offered attributed to Wing Fat, with an approximate date of 1890–1910.
