DIAMOND" VASELINE GLASS WATER TRAY

Available for purchase is anantique early American pattern glass (EAPG) water tray made by the Central Glass Company in Wheeling, West Virginia during the mid-1880s. The company simply listed the pattern as #740, but it was renamed by collectors as "Strawberry Diamond". The design is a series of faceted diamonds with flat panels along the border. The rim is scalloped with handles on the edge. The glass is a light yellowish-green "canary" or "vaseline" color that glows brightly under a black light (see second photo).This tray is quite large and measures approximately 16 1/2" long and 10 1/4" wide. The glass is thick and quite heavy. Originally, this tray would have been part of a serving set that included a matching pitcher and tumblers.I purchased this tray at an estate sale several years ago. It is guaranteed to be genuine 19th-century pattern glass and not a modern reproduction. Please check my positive response and buy with confidence from a trusted seller.Condition of this vaseline glass tray is EXCELLENT. It's nearly perfect with minor rim roughness and a small flake on the underside of the rim (see photo). The glass has a few bubbles and inclusions typical of antique 19th-century production. Overall, this tray looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a fine addition to any antique glass collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself.
