This piece is great! It came out of the same as estate of an awesome Torah I had sold years ago.
From what I found out on the Internet, I believe this is a vintage metal mezuzah case, likely made of brass or copper (but I’m not sure) with a green patina from age, featuring a depiction of the Ten Commandments or Hebrew lettering.
IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL SCROLL INSIDE!!!
It Features a raised letter Shin (ש) at the top, representing Shaddai (a name of God), alongside symbolic markers of the Ten Commandments.
Material: Appears to be aged brass or copper with visible wear and oxidation. But I’m not sure exactly exactly what it is made of. The scroll has some green lettering on the outside of the scroll which I don’t know if that indicates the age. There is rusting in oxygenation as shown, and I am not putting the paper back into the unit. I am shipping it separate from the metal to keep it protected.
The case is approximately two and three-quarter inches tall. There’s a hole on the top of the case I’m assuming for hanging.
