This is a rare, authentic ERIE #8 Cast Iron Dutch Oven from the late 19th century manufactured by Seldon & Griswold (Erie, PA). This is a pre-Griswold piece featuring the classic \"ERIE\" trademark on the bottom and includes the matching 837 lid.
This set is structurally sound with no cracks, chips, or repairs. It sits level and the handle is secure. It does show signs of its 100+ years of history though, including some carbon buildup and minor interior pitting (divots) consistent with age.
