Elaborately decorated antique Austrian/Continental porcelain pedestal urn or vase, dating approximately to the late 19th or early 20th century.
Measures approximately 6 3/4 inches high by 6 1/2 inches wide across the handles.
The Rococo Revival form features ornate open scrolling handles, pierced pedestal work, extensive gilt accents, hand-painted floral reserves on both sides and numerous dimensional hand-applied porcelain flowers and leaves. A small blue Vienna-style shield/beehive-type mark appears on the underside.
The vessel was likely originally made with a removable cover or lid, which is not present.
Condition is significantly distressed but decorative: the pedestal immediately above the base has been broken and crudely repaired, with visible old adhesive/filler around the repair. Numerous applied flower petals and leaves have chips and losses, with additional age wear and rubbing/loss to the gilding. There is old material and hardware visible underneath the base, as pictured. Sold as found and not restored.
